"I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though it all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah"
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though it all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah"
Hallelujah. Canadian poet, singer and songwriter Leonard Cohen, originally released this song
in 1984. It achieved little initial success but has
gone on to be covered over 300 times since and is often cited as
one of the greatest songs of all time.
What a lovely post. I don't remember Leonard's voice being quite so deep ~ but this was a joy to hear. Thank you!
